Scrumdilliumptious Adventures!!

Ahhh…the beautiful morning sunshine awoke us to blue skies after the hot, sticky night of rain!! Venturing down the now quiet side streets, we walked along towards the majestic Traders Hotel to grab a glimpse of the magnificent Twin Towers!!! Half way there we came across a gorgeous free art exhibition of BEARS!! Yes, BEARS!! There were over 100 plastic BEARS in front of a main shopping mall, each one beautifully designed by a selected artist from their country. All of this was a touring event by the united nations to promote peace and equality amongst it’s host members; each BEAR holding up his hands as a symbol of upholding these values together!!

Drawn into a vibrant display of red flowers and lanterns, we walked forwards into the shopping mall celebrating the upcoming Chinese New Year this Monday!! Being the year of Dragon, signifying prosperity, we found found Dragons floating in the middle shopping areas, either being held up by string or floating in and out of windows!! At first when I saw the cartoonish figurines I thought they must have been an animal of some type but after asking the receptionist, it seems that no the pink figure with gold horns was a dragon!!

Finally arriving at the 5-star hotel our bellies still full from the milo cereal and toast from breakfast, we casually took the interior decorated lifts to level 33, the sky-view level!! Stepping out of the luxurious lift and onto the roof swimming pool and plush red cushion bar, we were met with a spectacular view of the star like structures of the Twin Towers!!! Ahhhh…just breathtaking!!! With our 15 RM Sprite, Coca-Cola light and pineapple juice, we clinked our drinks looking out onto central KL!! Below us in the central park we could glimpse young teenagers flipping over their trusted friend, little kids splashing into the free outdoor swimming pool and gardeners cutting down dead palm leaves!! At one point we actually thought their was a large window above our head but soon found that in fact there was no window at all, just fresh air!! SCARY!!!

Down back on the ground, we walked wistfully through the palm trees and bushes of the park, passing picturesque fountains shooting water into the air and a mosque with open air levels for prayer!!! With the increasing heat and our sticky shirts we decided to stroll into the shopping centre underneath the Twin Towers, flicking passed huge labels of PRADA, ZARA!!! As we were unable to go to the top of the Towers (sadly all admission tickets were sold for the next two days) we found a cute little Malaysian restaurant and ate creamy hot laksa and nasi curry dishes!! Mmmmmmm…scrumdilliumptious!!

Phil and I couldn’t leave until we had a pedicure to reward our tiresome feet!!! Of course being the first time I had had a pedicure and had willingly allowed someone to clip, file, polish and rub my feet, I was feeling a bit nervous!!! But after glimpsing my bright green toe nails and Phil’s deep blue toe nails, I could relax and breathe deeply because finally my feet felt relieved!! What we hadn’t thought of though was our shoe-ware!! Luckily, the boys had time to quickly buy some thongs from ROXY so that our toe nails wouldn’t chip and get ruined!!! With our new thongs and shinning nail polish, we continued our adventure this time heading towards the huge Sky Telecommunications Tower!! From there we stopped by a street stall to eat Banana wrapped and cooked in Roti!!

Now as the thunder and clouds are rolling in we are off to China town for a delicious warm meal!!! Mmmmmm…I can hardly wait!! 😀
